[edit] First Corinthians
First Corinthians was likely written some 20 years after the death of Jesus, when Paul was in Ephesus. This would date the letter between 53 and 57 CE[1]. Like most of the Epistles, Cor 1 was written to address what Paul saw as theological problems in the Church of Cornith, focusing on divisions of the leaders of the church. He asks them to seek Church Unity and to step away from the devisive Pagan ideas that threaten the Church with God's punishment.
[edit] Feminism
The epistle is a breakthrough for the rights for women. For the first time, St. Paul relented and allowed women to learn how to avoid eternal damnation too. Just as long as they asked their questions the hell away from him. 1Cor.14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New International Version Bible
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. I Corinthians 13: 1-2
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13: 11-13
[edit] Second Corinthians
This is also an authentic letter of Paul's, written after the 1st letter (and a missing letter, called the "letter of tears") failed to have effect on the Church. There is discussion that the Epistle included in the Cannon is actually 2 letters joined, and that the harsh rebukes are separate from the letter that asks to visit.

Every man according to his own heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. II Corinthians 9:7
