Talk:Fundamentalist debate tactics

How about: Quoting authority of some otherwise respected figure and saying: "So you know more/better than X, do you? I think not. Godspeed" SG 10:22, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
Good point. Then again, they don't usually use that to end debates, those are generally used while continuing debates. Do we have a page on how Christians Debate? It would be quite helpful, not to mention that refutations could be put there to help people debating with theists... (Because they tend to like using things that hardly anybody who isn't desperate to disprove evolution, or has had it used on them before, knows about.) We could add 'A statement found in 'How Christians Debate' (Linked to the page) followed by 'Godspeed', and leaving before you can reply with their superior God speed.' or something. xD - All Hail Tuna 10:29, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
- "Do we have a page on how Christians Debate?" I don't think we do - plenty of exampes from cp though - you've got to remember we have plenty of 'non fundy Xtians on here - mostly ok people. I'm not up to starting such a page - They get my mad up too quickly. SG 10:40, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
Sorry, I meant Fundie there, not Christian. It's just that most Christians I debate tend to be anti-evolution fundies. For example, on an atheist Forum I'm on, only one Christian actually takes the time to read responses to his posts. (The other one who did became an atheist. o.O) So yeah, sorry, that's not exactly what I meant... But... Yeah... Perhaps just links to subjects such as the Second Law of Thermodynamics, Bacterial Flagellum, Irreducible Complexity, etc, on one page? o.O - All Hail Tuna 10:47, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
- How about renaming it "Fundamentalist debate tactics" and having "debate ending tactics" be a section of it? Because this file really does need to be renamed for clarity. humanbe in 18:41, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
- Good idea. Thanks. :D - All Hail Tuna 04:46, 10 September 2007 (CDT)
