:::Thanks, Linus. Don't bring shit on you, on my account, dude.  I wouldn't have minded, even went along, if someone had at least given me enough respect to tell me what they were going to do. It's just I have grown tired of the disrespect and liars here....them thinking its okay to be snitches on others, but cannot take the same back. Linus, others, have always been respectful, even when I was wrong, and learned me.  Others, they want respect, but it is a one-way street to them. I have tried mightily to get along, some, members of  the Cabal, manage to stop what they don't want, but allow personal and mean attacks and blocks on me. They claim they have no control, but how can they change anything they want to, but not stop others from attacking me?  How can this place change for the better with them acting like that?  And AmesG, everytime we tried to cooperate, it was you who turned snitch, so your pain is self-inflicted. --[[User:TK|TK]][[User_talk:TK|/MyTalk]]''Remember: Old  Prunes Are Usually Bitter'' 16:29, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Bygones

Let them be such.

Goading this user into (yet another) tit-for-tat foray is not wise nor desired.

TK, on a personal note I apologize for the cheap shot I took last evening. CЯacke® 17:46, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Likewise, for all of mine in the past directed at you, and all the regular, signing members here at RW. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all! --TK/MyTalk 19:57, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Party party! I hope you (TK) can tell the difference between when I talk about your "persona on CP" and whoever the "real you" is, and also whatever "persona on RW" develops moving forward. I second cracker's opening comments, and happy happies to all and sundry on here and everywhere else in the inhabited universe! Merry "all the holidays listed at War on Christmas"!! humanUser talk:Human 20:51, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Merry Christmas, TK! No, I don't think I was ever rude to you, but why miss out on the fun?-- Offeep 00:00, 22 December 2007 (EST)

Yes, indeed, Offeep...never miss an opportunity to party or drink, I have learned! Human: Nods, yes, I recognize. Linus, I hope Santa brings you a new bike or something that gets you outdoors more often! :P -- Thanks, Researcher, and GL...I hope this batch of balloons brings with them better mojo! PFoster...thanks! One of you guys let Ames know I have recalled the investigators, and used my giant horseshoe magnet on the special hard drive, okay? I won't speculate amongst this Holiday Cheer about Karajou being Fox and BrianCo, I'll save it until 2008! --TK/MyTalk 01:05, 22 December 2007 (EST)

archive?

I think we should "whitewash" some of the embarrassing mess above by encouraging TK to archive it. Page is getting long anyway, and no one has commented on the threads for a couple of days. Also, perhaps he could save that "bygones" section in a special sub-page with a link saying something like "here we were in our finest hour"? Or maybe just "bygones"? Seems a shame to have those fine sentiments vanish into the memory hole. Anyway, the page is long and he probably wants to archive it and I don't want to see him get his head bitten off for doing so. Thank you for your time. humanUser talk:Human 18:05, 24 December 2007 (EST)

Oh God, one of you? Pinto's5150 Talk 15:11, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Well, yes, Kels who constantly has attacked me, never blocked for it, is the ideal Sheriff to enforce a non-rule on me. Typical fascist fare, stopping those they hate from doing exactly what they do. I like them making my points for me. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 17:47, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Shouldn't you have left the blocking to Human (he has blocking rights, hasn't he?)? Now-a-days it's easier to get blocked here than over there at CP... Ed @CP and RW 16:07, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Actually, no. In cases of personal attacks, if the attackee complains, a third party should do the blocking after reviewing the complaint. I just read the diff linked above, and that was pretty nasty. I'm not "bitter"! And typing this: "Me me me! Everyone forgot me!!!! Oh, never mind..." does not seem like "denigrat[ing] and diminish[ing] even nice conversations when they don't go the way you wish (down the toilet)." Easier to get blocked here than at CP? Shirley you jest, Mr. Poor. I was permabanned on CP for editing here. humanUser talk:Human 20:43, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Hmm I'd better change my nick (Poor, moi? Brr). So this block was unwarranted at the time (you hadn't complained). I took it for an inside joke between you and TK. I definitely see more blocking here now than before - and less blocking over there at CP now than before. I don't think it's because TK "left". I guess they are starving for editors. There are people who, with the same name, derisively comment on CP here and participate in talks there; Interpreted's (?) sock hasn't been blocked yet despite his disruptive actions; I even put a reference to RW in my User page (disguised to be honest). And when someone is blocked, good chance is that it is an intimidating couple of days, not an automatic life ban. Ed @CP and RW 02:31, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Thank you, yes, this was the edit I made where I thought you were Ed Poor - I knew I mixed you up, but couldn't remember where - my apologies offered. Much discussion about this (warranted) block at user talk:Cracker. humanUser talk:Human 06:46, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Anytime you displease one of the Admin Elites here, you will get blocked, if you do it enough. Kels has constantly attacked me on this wiki, as has Human and AmesG...odd in a progressive wiki, they are allowed to punish those they disagree with, or that rational people would dare to compare a supposedly free and open wiki as RW is supposed to be with a totalitarian wiki like CP...as if doing something, anything, to a lesser degree here, like blocking, makes it alright! LMAO! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 17:47, 8 January 2008 (EST)

ACLU Defends Nazis' Right To Burn Down ACLU Headquarters --SockOfGulik 18:15, 8 January 2008 (EST)

No, I am outraged by anyone seeking to deceive people, especially those comming from out-of-the-blue and making judgements. :P --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 22:00, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Hey, you can be RWs resident crybaby! The Clerkenwell Kid 22:36, 8 January 2008 (EST)

I am happy to accept such a position if it entails, as I said above, outrage at those who seek to deceive others. Shall we start the guessing as to who you really are now, or would you rather save that game until later, Clerkwell Kid? I doubt this wiki would ever grant me check user for 5 minutes to confirm what I and others already think, lol. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:11, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Hell, no one has checkuser, aside from Tmt. (It was removed from the wiki, Tmt just has root access) Pinto's5150 Talk 23:16, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Excuse me being a skeptic, but what you meant to say was, "As far as I have been told, no one has check user", right? You have no way to personally verify, right? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:21, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Unless it has been wiped from the user rights management control panel but not the wiki, I am nearly certain. Pinto's5150 Talk 23:24, 8 January 2008 (EST)

For someone familiar with Wikimedia software, that can be done. In point of fact, the software could be configured to do exactly that, even show a different panel to different classes, or, for that matter, to actually not show certain user classes to others. Not saying that was done, just saying no way to actually verify what others have said. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 23:27, 8 January 2008 (EST)

True, I wasn't aware of that. Oddly enough, this shows users (myself included) as having checkuser, but I can genuinely say that I don't. Pinto's5150 Talk 23:42, 8 January 2008 (EST)
I actually do believe you, that you do not have it. And I actually do believe that it has been posted and or alluded to here, that it was done away with. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:15, 9 January 2008 (EST)
We uninstalled checkuser as a function, but the user group "checkuser" remains, so that users like myself are members of a group that carries no privileges whatsoever :-). I'd nuke the group but I think I have to be oversight to do that, and while I could demote myself to that, that seems untoward; further, I don't know how to do it... but, long story short, checkuser's been uninstalled on the wiki.-αmεσ (historian) 00:42, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Seems as if you have already been demoted, AmesG, looking at the link above.....you and several others already have "Oversight":

  • Airdish ‎(Bureaucrat, Sysop)
  • AmesG ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Bob M ‎(Bureaucrat, Sysop)
  • Human ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Linus ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Pinto's5150 ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)
  • Tmtoulouse ‎(Bureaucrat, checkuser, oversight, Sysop)

I wasn't, as you undoubtedly read above, doubting what was said. But, of course, wouldn't turn down you demoting me long enough to verify that! :P But then, I would only be able to actually verify that I couldn't see another user class that was invisible from the others, right? :D --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:52, 9 January 2008 (EST)

You generated that list during the one minute when I was oversight, to see if I could remove the user group :-). I couldn't :-(. Also, it seems Pinto came to the same perplexing conclusion I did: a bureaucrat can't even remove the user group, since apparently it no longer exists except on the recent changes screen. Weird.-αmεσ (historian) 00:53, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Yea, Ames, I removed all of your rights, and it still said you had checkuser. Pinto's5150 Talk 00:56, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Not doubting you at all, Ames. When I clicked it earlier, all the others had it, and I truly don't remember if you did or not! Seems to me, if one can grant a user class to oneself, than they are not in a lower user class than the others, eh? So, as I have been told, by a wiki genius here, one can also make user classes that others cannot see. No biggie..just as has been said, something that cannot ever be verified. Right? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 00:57, 9 January 2008 (EST)

I'm not supposed to tell you this, but you're a member of a super seekrit invisible user class that sends us your credit card number every time you click "Save Page." True story. Also, while "technically," since I could make myself a higher user class, I suppose I could belong to it whenever I want to, real restraint does function to prevent me from so elevating myself. That restraint is self-discipline, respect for the hierarchy, and respect for Trent & Linus. The public log ensures that you'd know if that restraint were breached. And, since you can see that I've never made myself Oversight except to try to remove the Checkuser group, it seems to work pretty well...-αmεσ (historian) 01:03, 9 January 2008 (EST)

LOL, I wish it did send my card! I would go on a shopping spree! You are making more of this with denials, than was ever thought to happen, however. The public logs can be changed, that has been confirmed here, remember? Not saying that's what happened here, or any other occasions, just saying, almost anything can be done, if one knows the software, and has a burning reason to do it. That's all. No tricks, accusations or anything else...I am even in short sleeves! :P --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 01:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Short sleeves.... Even the thought makes me envious, it's freezing here. Back on topic, ames, you are part of an ultra seekrit user class that automatically tells us what you're thinking, and I must say, it's disturbing. Pinto's5150 Talk 01:11, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Impossible! I always wear my tin foil hat! Never leave the apartment without it!-αmεσ (historian) 01:12, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Psh, we figured out how to use that as an antennae long ago. Pinto's5150 Talk 01:16, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Staying on topic, can one of you link me to a template that can rotate random quotes at the end of my sig, so I can copy it, but not the sayings? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 01:20, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Well, I guess it's nice to see you here....even if I don't actually have any idea of who you are other than the IP being from Sydney! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 17:49, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Jog your memory

I know it's absurd to think that you could remember every block, but do have any idea what this is for? I never edited, and I never even made an account. ThunderkatzHo! 21:25, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Most likely, if indeed you never made an account under any name, you had the misfortune to register at the same time as someone else with a similar IP to someone who did vandalize...or perhaps (given the small fonts of these damn wiki's) I simply misread the numbers! Some posting of vandalism in WIGO, using only IP's were naturally blocked, but unless you did that, like you said, no real idea. You do know you can unplug your modem for the night, and escape that block, eh? Most of them seem to drop off after a few weeks. ;-) --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 21:55, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Gawd, I dunno about that being easy. I've had the same IP for over two years now, through power outages, comcast resets, and even, I think, swapping modems! I'll never be able to say "hi" to Bohdan on CP ever again :( humanUser talk:Human 22:13, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Seems to me you have posted here or the forums several times about saying "Hi" several times Human, so I won't start crying for you quite yet, Samwell II. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 22:18, 8 January 2008 (EST)
Samwell was prior to my IP being blocked. Dumbass, you knew that! And whose side are you on? Troublermaker = you?. humanUser talk:Human 02:31, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Since I had no idea where you actually lived before this Holiday season, no, I wouldn't have known. Nor did I ever really pay attention to those things, just another part of the lore, I guess. Ask GL, I know he fended off my speculations you lived in North or South Carolina, etc. No need for the intimidating name calling, implied threats, what with you being a powerful Admin and all....for which you blocked me (allowed to happen) for two days, Human...we all know you won't likewise block yourself! Not that I expect you to, nor believe it would do any good, what with all the sock names. Around here, I am on my side. A few others have earned it as well. Anything else? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 03:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)

My theory is, whenever anyone here makes a move to let bygones be bygones, Human and a few others get alarmed, and not being able to abide anyone actually treating me normally, or having me interact with the others in a pleasant manner, feel the compulsion to jump in and attack, name call, spread their hate around, otherwise, perhaps, they will lose their reason for living. Sad they need to hate on others so badly, isn't it? On another page (WIGO Talk), Gulak was the appointed attacker, wanting to spur a reaction. When it wasn't enough, Human jumped in. In the past, Susan, AmesG or Kels acted in concert with the others. How utterly sad. Of course, I am just being paranoid, is the answer. If only it didn't happen exactly the same way, with exactly the same culprits over and over again, I might agree. Oh well, it's Midnight here now, time for a nightcap and a walk on the beach! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 05:07, 9 January 2008 (EST)
You're in Hawaii? You bastard! Ajkgordon 05:09, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Is that theory falsifiable, by the way? :) Ajkgordon 05:11, 9 January 2008 (EST)
All theories are falsifiable, lol. If it's January, it must be Kailua-Kona, where it is in the 70's now, 80's during the day, and the Whale watching and scuba diving is great! I am not, by the way, offended by your name-calling, but was mightily offended by Human's. Utterly and completely offended, deeper and more hurt was I than he was by my calling him a drunk, I might add! So there! --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old Prunes Are Usually Bitter 05:25, 9 January 2008 (EST)
Is that like a most-offended-competition then? Can I join in? Hawaii is on my list of places to visit on my round-the-world sailing cruise that I've got planned for when I sell my business / win the lottery / rob a bank / sell my soul early / late / never retirement plan / fantasy. Ajkgordon 05:44, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Sooooo... What are you doing up at this ungodly hour?

Unless you're still in Hawaii. There it's what, only eleven? Me, I'm still up at 2:40am. o_o --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 05:39, 9 January 2008 (EST)
