Trus me Conservapedia |
Introduction |

In-depth analysis |
Fun |
It occurs to me we need a page where we can put the funniest, most stunningly ignorant, or saddest edits we've seen on Conservapedia. Add new boinkers to the top.
July additions
- CP paranoia hits a new high: User Javascript and User CSS are only allowed for trusted editors and need "approval on CP" - that coming from the same guys who recommend Firefox, which itself supports User CSS and User Javascript. Somebody please tell them that User JS/CSS doesn't insert evil code into the site - it just changes the look and feel for that editor. (Fun fact: One of the scripts the editor wanted to use was "Lupin's popups" - something that at least two sysops apparently used for a good while already.)
- Stephen Black on Stephen Black. [1]
- Aschlafly can pigeonhole all he wants, but can he categorise?
- Aschlafly, as usual full of his self righteous self-importantance blusters on about how he reported Steve Carson to the FBI for vandalizing his open blog. [2]. The suggestion that he may have wasted his and the FBIs time was rebutted with "Ignorance and lack of experience lead to surprise about many things". A few weeks later JackTheRealMcCoy asks Aschlafly how the FBI investigation is going. Perhaps ignorance and lack of experience lead to Aschlafly being surprised that the FBI did absolutely nothing. That was one embarrassing question Aschlafly didn't want to answer [3]. JackTheRealMcCoy was then blocked because he violated 90/10 rule against endless talk; also violated standard requiring respect for one's talk page[4]. This endless talk consisted of two entries, one asking how the FBI investigationwas going, the other an answer to a message on his talk page[5] asking if the deletion of his question about the investigation was an embarrasing one that Aschlafly would prefer not to answer [6].
- Unless Mel Gibson confirms and makes an issue out of it, you cannot mention that he is straight.
- TK takes conciseness on talk pages to the max!
- Andrew Schlafly, master of the Liberal Style!
- Quick, call the press! Wikipedia is dead! It lost all credibility, and "[n]o intelligent contributor is going to be part of" it anymore! ...at least according to Andy.
- Someone turns Karajou's Sasquatch article into an exemplary piece of CP work. Karajou then gets rid of a paragraph because it repeats what was written above[7]. On closer inspection what was written above couldn't be found above. Someone reinstates the missing paragraph[8]. Karajou then asks the editor why is there a need to say twice what I have already witten in the article?. The editor asks Karajou if he has read the article[9], Karajou replies yes I have[10] totally oblivious to the concept of anyone can edit and that the article may have changed since he created the article. He then realised this and reverted to his original requesting of the editor on the talk page that if you're going to work on this article, build it up; don't dumb it down.
- Now this is a challenge: "I denounce [homosexuality] on the grounds that the Creator of us designed us to be heterosexual. I consider that to be a fact. Do you have hard, factual, evidence that I'm wrong?"
- Andy critizes a user for his spelling mistakes, when he himself can't spell.
- Nothing happened on July 20th, ever.
- Being helpful is not the CP way of doing things.
- Economics 101: Diminishing marginal returns is about the point beyond which there will be diminishing marginal returns. An attempt to fix this definition was not reverted, but amended to also include the recursion.
- Stryker post a Very detailed explanation of Carbon offsetting Just to have Karajou show True, blinding stupidity
- Pot calling the kettle much?
- It's kinda pathetic that a user called "1DieFukers" (just one name from the wave of new accounts with names like "1111godhatesfags11") gets a shorter block than pretty much all RW members and also a shorter block than accounts with names like "GLKilowog" (GL as in Green Lantern, btw) or "IloveGod".
- An accurate description of committed Conservapedians becomes an essay. Why?
- Karajou bans a user for misplacing an indefinite article.
- Apparently, in addition to his stunning ignorance about scientific matters, and his abject lack of proficiency with technology, Conservative apparently doesn't understand standard mathematical notation[11]. ("Exponents? Those must be in subscript.") There is some doubt as to whether he actually understands what all this highly complex, terribly confounding, hideously cruel exponential notation means, or that he even understands what is meant by the word "combinatorics".
- RobS finds undeniable proof of his claims. Sadly, he is then owned for his stupidity.
- Andy says no penis in his castle! LiteratiChamp cops a 1 week block for this entirely reasonable comment.
- This discussion on the anti-conservative nature of "Home Alone" is too priceless. [12]
- OMG Jennisuk is back on CP. For those who don't remember, Jennisuck was the original Foxpuppet responsible for the trashing of many fine articles such as Pocket Billiards and Melchester.
- Catholics don't know their Bible, just like in the Middle Ages. [13]
- I am speechless...
- This… thing from one of the ever-so-powerful, always-in-the-right sysops.
- While RW members are They Who Must Not Be Named on CP, John Schlafly is the new He who Must Not Be Named
- Arguments countering wild anti-evolution claims have liberal bias and should be purged!
- Finally, we get to see some African-American culture on the Conserva....never mind. [14]
- Ed Poor and wiki teamwork: Step 1: Ed makes claim. Step 2: User asks for source. Step 3: Ed asks user to look for source himself.
- Conservapedia's evolution expert vs The Internet: "Do you know how to download pictures?" Help comes from an unexpected direction: TK. And here is a motivational slogan to remember: If TK can do it, positively anyone can!
- TK leaves a (thinly) Veiled threat on a User Page [[15]] Then denies that he did it [[16]]
- While people (rightfully) worry about the existence of "Communism for Dummies" (and its connection to liberal bias), TK lectures them that the "...for Dummies" series exists, along with the helpful advice: "Check Barnes and Noble's website. Or Amazon.com." Well, I did... and that book doesn't seem to exist, TK. Way to miss the point.
- Connected to the case of TK copying from Wikipedia (two below): After doing a (literally) last-minute unblock, TK permanently bans the user for not understanding TK's vague-as-usual accusations/warnings - If TK doesn't like something, it's people pointing out that he violated the CP commandments.
- Spider-Man is a good, low-budget, conservative movie. It pokes fun at "liberals" (journalists and reporters, apparently FOX news wasn't present), and the hero chooses abstinence (this has nothing to do with him being a superhero).
- TK copied from Wikipedia. And while TK copying from non-public-domain sources is certainly nothing new (see some entries here), I find it immensely entertaining that he apparently/allegedly "didn't know" that Answers.com is a WP mirror (Answers.com doesn't exactly hide the Wikipedia ties...). TK then blocks the user who pointed this out, reverts their edits, then makes his "own" edits.
- Conservative's answer to an entirely rational comment on the talk page for Homosexuality, pointing out that Leviticus bans the consumption of shellfish but endorses slavery: "I find your liberal argumentation exceedingly weak." Wow, what a put-down.
- Consistency in action: The "Merriam Webster" article claims that the "date for 'eminent domain' is incorrect: 1883. The term was used as early as 1125", but the entry for "Eminent domain" says that the term was "first coined by Hugo Grotius in 1625" and goes on to add that "in a mistake in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, it says the term originated in 1783". Note: Merriam-Webster's "eminent domain" entry lists no date. At all.
- little ostrish hiding, not much more comment needed...
- In a discussion that is filled with "90/10" (read: "I don't want to admit that you have valid points, so STFU!") remarks against SirJim, TK finally gives a hilarious pointer: "Have you thought of trying Wikipedia, where mobocracy and bullying by squashing plain talk rule?"
- From the same discussion: Purity Rings (plain rings worn "as an expression of my Christian faith not to have sex outside marriage") now count as "chastity devices" that "are centuries old".
- Apparently, this is a "statement of senseless rebellion" that justifies a permanent ban. "Challenging 'our superiors' is only what makes America great; it's what makes America America in the first place." - Not on CP, PFoster... not on CP...
- Nice place that France thing : Serge Gainsbourg not really a great scholar but a French singer, Immanuel Kant a German, and the third guy on the list never heard of him (and I am quite sure his middle name infringes their 3rd commandment...), found a couple of cookies apparently but missed the most obvious ones.
- Suspected liberal cp:User:Stryker brings up a news article which shows liberal deceit! TK uses the article as an opportunity to rip into Stryker (at 12:54), claiming that the article isn't even appropriate for New York City! At 12:57, Andy decided to add the article to the front page. TK quickly backpedals.
- "Wikipedia has on it a number of entries that Conservapedia would never permit--entries, for example, on certain intimate practices that ought to disgust you or strike terror in your heart." - I guess TerryH meant things like... uh... masturbation, sexual intercourse (or any other form of intercourse, for that matter), or the horrible safe sex. He's right, of course. Nothing strikes terror into my heart like the thought of using a condom.
- How much are Wikipedia and Conservapedia alike? Take a look at points of criticism and see if you can see what site they're directed against: "In point of fact, every time we dare add the sort of edit you call upon us to add, people like your allies [...] take it down.", "Not only was my opposition rejected, as I expected, but there were threats to delete my comments as being trolling! Yet many people over the previous months had complained of bias in the article, and they were always slapped down, and in some cases banned." The surprising answer in both cases: CPers complaining about Wikipedia
- You know what's a really, really, good book? The Earth and its Peoples: A Global History. My buddy Learn together really LOVES it.
- Hip Hop is wack, Dog. Also, it is not performed by Brits, the French, the Brazilians, etc. No no, it's only performed by 'African Americans'. You just know they'd love to have written 'coons' there. Update: Article has been rewritten since posting this here.
- Conservative puts the "sick" back in "sycophant." Get a room, you two...[17]
- *bleep*ed if you do, *bleep*ed if you don't: While it's forbidden to have a user page vaguely critical of CP, it's also forbidden to blank a user page parodying CP - the user has been perma-banned after that edit (which had been his only edit in more than a month). Update: The user has been unbanned again! By TK, even! More update: Banned again by Fox, this time for saying "LOLZ you've been blocked." more than a month ago. And unbanned again. Make up your mind, guys!
- "I quasi-deleted your debate and banned you because the debate was not valid in my eyes. Oh, but CP isn't ruled by a mob!" Is this hypocrisy, an oxymoron, or just plain idiocy?
- The mandatory teaching of evolution is part of the theory of evolution.[18] What Andy fails to see is that the teaching of intelligent design is part of "intelligent design" "theory", and evolution is just part of science class.
- Aschafly the brilliant lawyer informs us that the US govement "prohibits access to information stored on a computer"
- ANSWER - BECAUSE CAPS-LOCK IS THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. (Note: This term is not about the political group "Act Now to Stop War and End Racism", but about the regular word "answer".)
- Tragic consequence of the CP Team Contest: Non-competing members are not allowed to welcome new users during the contest! Does that mean that non-competing members also may not edit or create articles anymore?
- 13:52, 15 July 2007 Public Schools (Talk | contribs) blocked "God.Almighty.0.0/16 (contribs)" with an expiry time of infinite (Public schools are godless.)
- To the Bat-Time-Machine, part two: TK certainly is ahead of his time, having already started Day 7 of the contest! (Considering that July 10 was Day One, July 15 definitely isn't Day Seven. What's the old saying...? Oh yeah: "Use both hands to count next time." :P)
- 15th. PHP is unfortunately not mentioned in the Bible. www.conservapedia.com consisted of:
- Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/conserv8/public_html/LocalSettings.php on line 188
- See screen shot
- On 21:36, 11 July 2007, 10 kinds of people became one of the myriad "clean and educational" mainspace articles. (It has since been deleted.)
- Talk about long-term memory: In January, Andy edited Amicus Curiae Brief. In April, he started Amicus brief, and now, he started Amicus curiae. All are about the same subject.
- Does removing 10kb of valid discussion from Andy's user talk page count as "Information Destruction"? Well, at least it's not vandalism and doesn't have to be fixed. However, pointing out this issue is "pure trolling" and will earn you a 1-day block.
- Publishing full IP addresses is now a good thing and totally does not conflict with the current Privacy Policy. Oh, wait... it does. Update: The page got pseudo-deleted by Fox after a vandal attack. However, we now know that "an IP address doesn't narrow down a user's location to such a point where they are easily identified anyway" -- which is entirely wrong -- and thus apparently doesn't count as user information, anyway.
- Well, that's one way to get an advantage in the contest: Just lock the contest's talk page and thus exclude 25% of the other team from voicing their opinions!
- Pop quiz! A user page might violate some arbitrary guideline. What do you do? Answer: You give a vague alert to the user and refuse to answer his question of which rule the page violates. And before he can react, you protect the page, replace it with some completely unrelated stuff on it, and then revert it back to the violating content... while keeping the page locked. All while you banter on the user's talk page, of course. (See the July 12 edits between the Sid_3050 edits and the "Removing all content from page" one, and the talk page)
- Who cares about Freud's opinions, anyway?
- Ed wonders aloud about Human Rights Watch and the Jews [19].
- I got yer "Christian love and peace" riiiiiiight here!
- Quick, Robin! To the Bat-Time-Machine! TK bans Tfk with the reason "Inappropriate Play on current sysop". The only problem: Tfk had made his first (and only) edit weeks before TK... In related news, Tk, who made his first (and only) edit just a day after TK (but still long before TK was made sysop), got banned for the same reason.
- Something to keep in mind when editing science articles on CP: The YEC position has to be presented before anything else. (Even before grammar.)
- In defense of a plagarised article[20] Aschlafly asserts, in a stunningly irrevelent non-sequiteur, that "Liberals" are so vile that they even want children to contract rabies from racoons [21].
- Aschlafly decides that Wikipedia mentioning Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter on the VPs talk page but not mentioning Al Gore's son's drug busts as evidence of liberal bias on Wikipedia[22][23]. He neglects to mention the explicitly stated context of Cheney's daughter's position in the Cheney camp and the significance of her sexuality with respect to the Bush administration's anti-gay stance, to wit: Mary is one of her father's top campaign aides and closest confidantes . . . . Her sexual orientation as a lesbian has become a source of increasing public attention for Dick Cheney in light of the same-sex marriage debate and Ms. Cheney's pregnancy. No such political connection exists between Al Gore, drug use and Gore's son.
- Aschlafly implies an open mind leads to better grammar, logic and spelling. On the other hand one might think an open mind would accept grammar, logic and spelling as it comes.(See Conservapedia:Grammar and Spellling)
- This isn't tabloid-like or gossipy at all.
- Odd little piece of work, this.
- Again, Aschlafly's habit of playing fast and loose with the term "liberal" gets him into a bit of trouble on the talk page. If the shoe doesn't fit, make it fit.
- "Accusing somebody of being something other than what they claim to be" is not okay... except for CP editors calling tons of people liberals, atheists, terrorists, trolls, vandals, or socks, of course.
- Jokemeister Aschlafly kills 'em in Glasgow. When people complain about the apparent poor taste of the caption,
the alleged human being,Mr Schlafly maintains the criticisms are REALLY politically motivated, not concerns about poor taste. But the rearguard steps in to save the day
June additions
- Apparently refusing to sign onto Operation Iraqi Freedom now goes against all things Western and Secular.
- The first sentence of the article on Mexico is priceless.
- Facts have a liberal bias?. Simply delete them then. Telling horny teenagers not to have sex is clearly the best way.
- Take a few minutes to read epic exchange between two CP sysops about the color of a link in a template. And then compare Hoji's first post with Conservative's last post.
- Got blocked or lost your late-night editing rights? Don't take it personally. Oh, and don't expect to get an explanation - "It is not productive for us to explain in detail each and every decision about editors' authority and we do not intend to do so." Oh, and by the way, you're blocked
- Fun fact: TK is an "expert at conflict resolution and communication, and will not let you down"
- It would appear that you can be blocked for vandalism without making a single edit. Maybe they have a Minority Report style approach to tackling wandals?
- RobS as batshit insane, sorry, open minded as ever.
- who says? Karajou says!
- Ed Poor, who apparently doesn't read his own stuff before he writes it, sets a new standard for irony, telling a user that CP does not use "intimidation, bullying, humiliation, threats, teasing, and relentless POV-pushing", in an edit that actually commits several of those offenses. And in the same edit: Ed Poor explains your rights on Conservapedia: <spoiler>None.</spoiler>
- Lovely sentence from TK. Also apparently the Republican party have in the past engaged in Liberal Deceit.
- Don't know why I liked this, I just did.
- Talk about priorities: Stephanie Simon got a CP article before the apparently less important people like Tom Clancy, J. K. Rowling, and Kofi Annan (</random examples>). Among others.
- Telling Andy that the LA Times article is not as charming as he wants + spelling "favorite" the non-American way = "Ah, your spelling of 'favorite' gives you away. Not an American, and perhaps a Bush-hater? Why didn't you just at the beginning that you dislike conservatives, if that's case???"
- "A columnist (...) widely criticized by the public." Follow the link. (Note that the page is a frame of the Main Page.)
- Where do some Conservapedia sysops get their information from? Google and (the extremely biased, liberal) Wikipedia, apparently!
- Writing "Icewedge = Jesus" is worthy of being blocked for the rest of time, but claiming that Jews are the spawn of Satan only deserves a one year ban.
- Relativity is a bloody fact. Denying it is unbelievably anti-intellectual. This link also includes the brilliant exercise in grammar, "Public school student is arrested in the much-publicized savage murder of a Pennsylvania couple and its teenage son."
- RobS teaches us that chemical formulae and historical information about cocaine are claims that we can't make.
- Too much knowledge about smallpox is not good for Conservatives. Ignorance is bliss.
- Apparently what's fit for the main page isn't good enough for the blog, sorry, encyclopedia. And this clears up any doubt. And I thought the American health system was perfect.
- It seems[24] that the Acid never hit the Kool Aid in the conservapedia version of the Merry Pranksters.
- I'm very fond of not only the fantastic writing, but also the wild inaccuracies about the second-largest city in the US, Los Angeles [25]
- Ugh...This one is even more offensive than their usual fare. Way to show your knowledge of porn terms, Crocoite!
- An unaccustomed bit of honesty from TK
- Opposition to Israeli policies is so anti-semitism, so shaddap! And no fair citing Conservapedia!
- I am a sysop; therefore, I will redefine the spelling of "consevative"
- Ignorance (is bliss, and how to attain it)
- Poetry Criticism, Conservapedia style!
- Being sysop is hard work, right? Not according to Conservative!
- Watch out! You might be talking to an ETA member now!
- TK on accountability: "That, sir, is my agenda is; accountability and knowledge."
- TK on templates: "Ed told me to delete any templates I didn't know about, or became suspicious about....and I cerainly am with this one."
- "She's a witch! Burn her!"
- Words fail me.
- Final Exam on mr. Schlafly's Economics course. Recommended highlights are questions 5, 26, 27 and 30.
- Breast cancer is an important issue, but you can't see how to detect it.
- Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time
- Processed pork is evil I tell you. Evil!
- Apparently "talk pages do not constitute debate"
- Yes Ed, you may need a better title for that
- Final Exam Question of Doom - This one doesn't REALLY count since it's a full convo, but it has a few memorable moments, like this "HAAA HAAAA!" moment by Andy.
- Lenin invented time travel!
- Good Ed vs. Evil Ed - Round One, Fight!
- Jack Bauer shows us the way
- This whole conversation, especially the part between Andy and "John Smith", is a thing of beauty, especially after Andy's "if that is your real name" barb, given after John told him explicitly it wasn't. Good times!
- Disagreeing with the voices in RobS' head is now defined as "vandalism". Please update your dictionaries accordingly.
- Using Lenin's time travel device (see above), Andy and Karajou managed to ban a user before giving him his ban warning. I hope Andy won't mind if JohnSmith doesn't reply... (But remember: "Before I block anyone, I go to Andy and let him know what's going on first, giving him a chance to see for himself what has transpired.")
- As Conservapedia descends into surreality, TK of all people unveils an "ad hominem page" template (except it's ineptly done) all over Andy's talk page. Personally, I think they should just move it to the top and leave it there. TK copied that here then showed it to Andy to impress him with his new idea, kinda deceitful of him.[26][27]
- [28] Andy wants to make sure everyone knows how great Tim Willoughby is.
- Gaaaaah!
- Censorship and favouritism, two great tastes that taste great together!
- …
- Now Jimbo will need Conservapedia! Okay…
- Clearly, the less information on an encyclopedia, the better. To include more would be admitting the utility of vaccination.
- The average Conservapedian probably doesn't realize the irony of this Daily Historical Quote that appeared on the main page.
- I was impressed by the edit summary, which was apparently a chance to attack liberals that was passed up - until I saw the actual edit.
- Sm355 is warned that if he deletes the phrase "God's universe" from the physics article again he will be blocked. Crocoite decides that it's better to just ban him 3 minutes later before he has the chance to do anything else.
- Just one of the currently more than "11,300 educational, clean, and concise entries".
Deleted by Bohdan, who had previously made one of the two edits to that page (by adding his own name after Ed started the page with "You MORON!").Restored by TK, but it's now locked and redirecting to CP:Deletedpage. - Hingham Journal, Hingman Journal, who cares? It's just the main page, no need to actually check the proper spelling of the town's name. What makes this so special: After more than 24 hours and six edits by the same sysop, the news item - with the wrong name - dropped off the main page. More than enough time for people (like the Hingham Journal admins who might check their server logs) to notice the lack of quality control on the Trusworthy Encyclopedia
- Tee Hee [29]
- Okay, so he/she is probably a sock and was probably up to no good, but after doing this, this happened. Who's got the hairiest hair-trigger in the quickdraw classroom? I do! I do! I do! Please Mr. Schlafly, please stroke my belly. αιρδισΗταλκ 17:52, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
- One edit block. Philip J. Rayment created an article Creation and evolution compared. MortUrie edited it, changing this to this and was banned for 2 weeks for what BenjaminS referred to as vandalism. TK thinks the page (in the initial, empty state) Looks good but needs ... close monitoring.
- Yo, SimonA, feel free to come over here and talk some sense into us. Then we could show you that we're not just "a bunch of liberal nut jobs who were thrown off Conservapedia, and are still holding a grudge" (even though that summary has a nice ring to it...).
- Brownshirt training school. "Ya I agree. Know what I find humorus, is that they can't defend themselves while we trash them! Haha--[User:Redacted] 13:25, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
- TK again. Such mature debate makes me rue the day I was cast out from their hallowed halls.
- IT'S BACK FROM THE DEAD. AND COMMUNISM IS EVOL!
- The History of the Earth is something Conservatives don't want to know about.
