Just a note here, although the fears mentioned in snopes and e-mail chains are baseless, I would not be putting any money down on the safety of hexane.— Unsigned, by: Lord Kinbote / talk / contribs

Hexane is not a big hazard unless you inhale it for long periods of time. The levels in meals are 20x lower than the amount which can cause poisoning on chronic exposure. --Tweenk (talk) 02:40, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Seed oils: the right's latest weird obsession[edit]

Maybe there should be a page about vegetable oils more generally and groups like Seed Oil Rebellion, etc? --Lola Lazerface (talk) 13:20, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

Unless you've got other evidence, this doesn't seem to be right-wing, per se, but rather an outgrowth of the paleo[1]/carnivore diets.[2] Sole reliance on videos[3] and testimonials[4] is usually red flag. Their #1, #2 and #3 recommendations for 'good' oils are beef tallow, butter and ghee.[5] Both tallow and ghee can increase blood cholesterol levels.[6][7] Bongolian (talk) 15:46, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
