With regard to religion, I am a Messianic Jew. I'm not evangelistic, and I couldn't care less whether you or anyone else outside of my family believes or not. Its the 21st century, baby - you've got religion vs rationalism being pumped into your head 24/7/365 by the mass media and life's too short for me to come knocking on your door with some pamphlets and phoney smiles. I give the "facts" as I believe them to all my children, but the decisions they make about those "facts" are theirs and theirs alone. To enforce my belief upon them makes a mockery of the whole faith and free will thing, and G-d may just as well have not bothered and instead created us as fleshy automatons if that is what He wanted. Which patently He did not. I am undecided on the Creation/ID/evolution argument: I lean towards ID, but I also don't see that G-d isn't capable of using organic evolution as His Creation modus operandi. The science of the subject is often beyond my understanding, and anyway, I think far too much time and energy (and resources) are spent arguing over something that has already happened, one way or another, and not enough is spent conserving the incredible gift of the natural world around us. Priorities, people!

I am a fervent Portsmouth F.C. supporter, as are all my family except #1 daughter who bucks the trend by supporting the Arsenal. This is confusing for daughter #2 btw, who no sooner had learned all the words to the Benjani song than he was sold to Man City. Don't even get me started on how we're going to get her to stop singing "Harry Redknapp's Blue & White Army!" ... Music is very important to me and I have been playing the violin since I was 7. (My arm is really getting tired now.) I also play a little guitar and a big bass guitar. I struggle with the piano, although I would dearly love to be able to play Clair de lune - nothing more, nothing less, simply that one piece. Alas, I still cannot.

I own a gun, but have never used it to kill anybody. I don't believe I have any ammunition in the house, so it is pretty much a dust magnet than anything else. I have only ever shot at two people in my life, and they both lived :) I adore the music of Richard Ashcroft, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Yes, Marillion, Gabriel-era Genesis, Bjork, Zep, Siouxsie, The Mission... too many to list completely. I may not have the same philosophy as everyone here or at CP, and I may not always act in the most flattering of manners, I often make mistakes, and I often say things I immediately regret; but, I am just a man, just a person with pretty much the same hopes, ideals, loves, emotions, thoughts, fears and worries as everyone else in the world today.
