Ban proposal

While there seems to be a decent level of support for a topic ban or a similar form of punishment, It is unclear (to me at least) how well a ban proposal will go down at this time. Shit, I've been editing for a couple of years now, mostly wiki-gnome shit, I just never signed up. Fencing the Coop

No, I don't think you're missing anything, I think you're right. Judging from the logs, it looks like COOP wasn't supposed to be indefinitely protected like that -- someone (Dredd) may have misinterpreted one of the temp-protects to deter trolls as a permanent protection. Retiring chicken coop thing

I saw your comment on it in the recent basement conversation, and, well, I remember that being a thread a while back in another RationalWiki talk page (don't remember exactly where) but apparently that suggestion was laughed out even though I thought there was a point being made there. We're not using coop any more, I noticed that, as we're favoring more doing stuff in that basement. @LeftyGreenMario I don't intend to formally propose mothballing the coop again, but if you support the idea I will say I would second the motion if you started the conversation. @Luigifan18 I don't propose mothballing the concept of HCM, just the chicken coop because it has largely been replaced by ATM (and the fact that people scold users for starting a coop instead of asking on somebody's talk page just further shows that the coop no longer serves the purpose it was intended, or any purpose for that matter; if I'm remembering correctly RationalWikians created the coop with the intention of it ending the days of conversations being spread over multiple user talk pages). But frankly, that deceptive "x amount of days since the last squabble" grates my nerves. It's like workplaces that have that kind of sign for workplace injuries while discouraging their employees from reporting injuries. King Bowser K. Rool (talk) 21:56, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
