PARTY ON ALPHA'S PAGE![edit]

Someone get a goat and bring some stock from SB. I'll set the mood with some awesome tunes! (Oh, no, I won't, the last party I DJ'ed was a funeral for the Best Man before he was found to be the father of the baby the other guy was blamed for.) 21:59, 3 April 2011 (UTC) C®ackeЯ

LETS FUCKING PARTY!
WOW... But no, really, I'm honored to have my talk page chosen for this... important ceremony. You folks are ridiculous... and is that actually you, Ace? Or some random person who doesn't know you lifted his picture? άλφαTalk 07:04, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
No, that is me. Ace of Spades 21:11, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
I can attest to that. He had the same look on his face the first time he threatened to beat me up before taking my wallet. Obviously there was nothing in it as I'm poor, but I liked the wallet. It was velcro. SJ Debaser 21:47, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
I am currently scratching my weeping genital sores with rough side of the velcro right now. Ace of Spades 21:49, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
And there goes my desire to write to you and ask for it back. Sick, STI-ravaged bastard. SJ Debaser 21:53, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
I am going to send it to you anyway. Ace of Spades 21:55, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
My billfold has some velcro on it... of course as a uni student there's nothing in it, but I remain convinced that one day I'll actually see what it looks like with more than coins in it. άλφαTalk 07:35, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Boycott[edit]

NO MOAR WIGO!!!--Colonel Sanders (talk) 00:50, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't think I've written a single WIGO... so why post this on my page? άλφαTalk 00:53, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I r confused too. But I like your sig. It pretty. RatMaster háblame 00:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I sorry. Thought it was you.--Colonel Sanders (talk) 00:58, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Who knows; maybe he'll explain it in short order. I like my sig too! I prefer simple user names, and "alpha" was hard to beat, but I had to spice it up somehow for a sig. άλφαTalk 01:00, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I'll be the βητα to your alpha. RatMaster háblame 01:01, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
@CS - Ah, ok. I can start writing a ton of them if it would make you feel better, though. άλφαTalk 01:02, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

no[edit]

they will not learn how to use captags--Mikalos209 (talk) 19:39, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

I figured as much, but since I'm basically excluded from CP on a permanent basis, no matter which IP I use in my city (a large one, I might add...) because of incessant time outs, the only way I can view it is through screen captures. άλφαΤαλκ 19:42, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I've never had to deal with being locked out of CP. your actually probably more lucky.--Mikalos209 (talk) 19:46, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Probably. However, as a former longtime editor of CP, I'm interested in what goes on. It makes for a nice, humorous break in between my courses and study. άλφαΤαλκ 19:48, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I've never liked CP, although we vaguely share a set of beliefs. and horray for humour! --Mikalos209 (talk) 19:49, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm fairly convinced that as a secular humanist and a social/economic liberal, I share no beliefs with CP. Except maybe my general amateur knowledge of the Mediawiki interface. άλφαΤαλκ 19:53, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm so odd man out here as a YEC, literalist christian >.>--Mikalos209 (talk) 01:15, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Anywhere we go on the internet, though, we'll find some places where we share some of the views, other places we don't. Not a big deal. άλφαΤαλκ 03:18, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Post-CP[edit]

Eyebrow.gif you have decided to join our order? Тайговорить 01:22, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Uhm, sure; I saw the category mentioned elsewhere and assumed it was for people here that had left CP. Since I was a CP editor for almost three years before getting bored and quitting (no final message, anything like that; I just quit editing) I assumed I should add the category. Was I mistaken? Does this order come with a pension or matching contributions to my IRA? άλφαΤαλκ 01:33, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
The category in general is for people who no longer care about anything CP-related, some members even wish for the wigo page to be removed from the site. Тайговорить 01:35, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Oh, so I was very much off then... because even though I don't care much about CP except for the sake of humour, and wouldn't have a problem seeing it fade away from here, I'm not one of the main editors here and never really say all that much worthwhile, so how can little old me make a difference? άλφαΤαλκ 01:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Haha, oh, you'll notice one member of the category comments there all the time, others like RNS, ADK, and I haven't cared in ages, I think it started with a "get CP out of mainspace" thing, I'm one of the crazed radicals, pay me no mind, I was mostly messing with ya. ;) Тайговорить 01:40, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Not to worry; as I said, I'm in it for the humour, and I don't think the partial obsession with CP is the only problem with RW. Whatever the case, I'm always excited to see the "New Messages" indication... I'm just so lonely that my only human contact is on my talk page... άλφαΤαλκ 01:44, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I feel you on that one. So, what would you like to discuss? Тайговорить 01:45, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
About RW specifically? άλφαΤαλκ 01:47, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Anything really. Тайговорить 01:48, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm. well, I'm always interesting in discussing quite a few different things. How about the future of the Palestinian conflict? I just read this article in the NY Times about their submission to the UN, but per my personality, I'm not optimistic. I don't know too much about the issue, but it's something that interests me. Or... securitisation! I've been running the "thought experiments" recently about securitising all sorts of things, and thinking about how they would work with an actually appropriate amount of regulation (we could even securitise car payments! Bad idea? probably. Interesting thought experiment when I'm bored in an economics course? Certainly!) And... that's it for right now. It all boils down to I'm basically interested in discussing (or just listening to other people) so I can learn stuff, on most political, economic, social, cultural, etc. topics. What interests you? άλφαΤαλκ 02:09, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I have a PDF of any NY Times articles I post, too, since I heard that they were starting IP restrictions to prevent people from reading for free. So far, they don't seem to be affecting me, but I figured I'd save the articles just in case. άλφαΤαλκ 02:10, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm concerned about my home state as there is a lack of a viable challenger to Bobby Jindal in the gubernational this year. Oh, and applying to grad school. No idea on the Palestinian thing, I think the U.S. will do as much to prevent it as they can. Тайговорить 02:14, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Bobby Jindal... I certainly don't hear his name much (I'm not in your home state, however, so maybe it's not a surprise). At least not for a while, that is. He seemed to fade from national prominence after a brief stint in the "we found someone 'different' enough to beat Obama, maybe!" ring. What are you applying to grad school for? I'm still in the process in deciding about that (1.5 years left at uni). Perhaps computer science, based on your user page? άλφαΤαλκ 02:19, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Jindal has since spent his time dismantling the state government and university . His refusal to allow any tax increase to pass has caused the state monetary woes, esp. given that he approved 6 tax cuts prior to the problem. So, my first job here was cut. One of Louisiana's few redeeming qualities is that we have a effing amazing scholarship program sponsored by the state, in effect if you made a 3.5 in high school you get a free ride on tuition. It's under fire, and is pretty much the only thing keeping the college youth here. I'd like to go to grad school some where far colder, like Penn State or Canada, and yes, in Computer Science. Тайговорить 02:24, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

How's the financial prospective for grad school, though? I hadn't heard about Jindal's budget cuts, but sadly I'm not surprised. The states I grew up in (Illinois, Missouri, California, Arizona, mainly) suffered a lot of that too. άλφαΤαλκ 21:28, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I can afford it, the problem is getting in :) Тайговорить 19:10, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

If you were trying to capture the "goatse" vandalism to that page, it is no wonder Capturebot was choking on it. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 18:33, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I didn't realise it was goatse; I should be thankful the capture broke. I had clicked on Recent Changes and noticed vandalism, so per usual I clicked on the diff out of curiosity, but the page kept crashing and asking me to save "index.php" instead of actually showing the diff. I assumed Capturebot would have better luck, but my curiosity has been satisfied. Despite the large additional character count, I assumed the vandalism was more CSS tricks, since that seems to be popular over there lately. Thanks for the tip, though. άλφαΤαλκ 18:41, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
