Willful ignorance is the state and practice of ignoring any evidence that appears to contradict one's preconceived notions. Depending on the nature of said beliefs, this practice can entail disregarding established facts and/or reasonable opinions if they fail to meet your preconceived expectations. In other cases, it can involve refusal to read, hear or study in any way anything that does not consider your worldview to be inviolate.
