Not as bad as
From RationalWiki
The "not as bad as" argument is always popular with people who know perfectly well they're doing something immoral, but feel compelled to attempt to justify it, by pointing to other, worse, immorality.
The existence of a worse atrocity, however, does not actually justify anything.
"Yes, the US is keeping secret prisons, but we're not as bad as Saddam Hussein!"
"Stalin may well have been a murderous dictator, but he was not as bad as the Tsar!"
"What have the Romans ever done for us? Well, they are not as bad as the Egyptians were!"
"Yes, it is true that CP sysops ban editors for asking questions, but they are not as bad as Wikipedia!"
